Jason Sudeikis and Ted Lasso: One and the Same

Ted Lasso took the world by storm. It was a balm we all needed in the midst of a tough year.

The year was perhaps doubly tough for the show’s creator and star, Jason Sudeikis. In a relentlessly charming interview with GQ’s Zac Baron, he opens up about the creative process and everything that led up to it.

One of my favorite lines:

Sudeikis likes to say, in homage to his background in competitive sports, that there's no defense in the arts. “The only things you're competing against, I believe, are apathy, cynicism, and ego,” he said.

It feels oh-so-very Ted Lasso, a little bit of the creator that can be seen bleeding into his most beloved character.
